A fecal wbc (FECWBC) will be performed on patients younger than 2 years of age.

Qualitative detection of elevated levels of fecal leukocytes and may indicate intestinal inflammation.

0.5 g of unpreserved stool in a screw-capped, sterile container.

Maintain sterility and forward promptly.

Specimens submitted in transport media or preservative will be rejected.
