Specimen Requirements

Required: Plasma (EDTA)

Container: Purple top (EDTA) tube

Specimen Volume:  1.0 mL (minimum volume 0.6 mL)

Collection Instructions: Forward promptly.

Shipping and Handling Instructions

Centrifuge and separate plasma from the cells.  Transfer at least 0.6 mL of cell-free sample to a storage tube. Tightly stopper the tube immediately and freeze at -20°C or colder. Thaw samples only once after freezing. When thawing, allow samples to equilibrate to room temperature for a minimum of 30 minutes prior to testing.
