Specimen Requirements
Collect raw sputum or bronchial specimen (bronchoalveolar lavage or branch wash) samples following our institution's standard procedures.
Specimen Volume: Raw sputum or bronchial specimen: minimum volume to perform one MTB/RIF PCR test is 2 mL (1 mL for PCR and 1 mL for required AFB culture)
Samples with obvious food particles or other solid particulate will be rejected.
