Specimen Requirements
Required: Serum
Container: Plain, red-top or gold, serum gel tube
Specimen Volume: 1.0 mL (minimum volume 0.1 mL)
Collection Instructions: Prior to centrifugation allow sample to clot 15-30 minutes at room temperature, then refrigerate 2-8°C and allow clotting to continue for 30-60 minutes. Centrifuge in a refrigerated centrifuge if available otherwise centrifuge, separate, refrigerate as soon as possible. Forward promptly.
