Specimen Requirements

Collect Body Fluid and put in a sterile screw-top container. Use body fluid transfer kit to place required amount of fluid into the plain, red-top or gold serum gel tube. If transfer kit is not available, transfer to closest laboratory ASAP.

 

Preferred Container/tube: Gold-top gel tube

Specimen Volume: 1.0 mL (minimum volume 0.15 mL)

Collection Instructions: Forward promptly.

Specimen Stability

Treat as serum:

Refrigerated (preferred): 22 days

Ambient: 1 week

Frozen(-20°C): up to 1 year
