Specimen Requirements
Collect body fluid and put in a sterile screw-top container. Use body fluid transfer kit to place required amount of fluid into the plain, red-top or gold serum gel tube. If transfer kit is not available, transfer to closest laboratory ASAP.
Preferred: Serum
Container: Plain, red-top or gold serum gel tube
Specimen Volume: 1.0 mL (minimum volume 0.1 mL)
Collection Instructions: Forward promptly.
Specimen Stability
Refrigerated (preferred): 3 days
Frozen (< -20C): 6 months
