Intended Use

The analysis of body fluids identifies and enumerates total nucleated cells (White Blood Cells and others) and Red Blood Cells and assists with the identification of reactive, infectious or malignant processes.

Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: CSF

 

Submit 1 mL (minimum volume:  0.25 mL) of the body fluid. 

 

CSF should be placed in the specific tube for CSF collection and should be filled according to the number on the tube. The cell count will generally be performed on the highest number tube unless otherwise specified.

Specimen Stability

Can maintain specimen at room temperature up to 4 hours.

Refrigerate up to 24 hours. Do not freeze
