Intended Use
Used to detect the parasite Enterobius vermicularis (also known as pinworm or seatworm), the causative agent of human enterobiasis.

Specimen Requirements
"Swube" Pinworm Paddle procedure:
- Hold the paddle by the cap and remove it from the tube.
- Separate the buttocks and press the tacky surface against several areas of the perianal region.
- Replace the paddle in the tube for transport to the laboratory. Attach specimen and patient identification.
- Specimen should be refrigerated if examination is to be delayed for more than one day.
Cellulose tape procedure:
- Loop the tape (adhesive side out) over a wooden tongue depressor.
- Press the tape firmly against the left and right perianal folds.
- Spread the tape over a clean microscope slide, adhesive side down. Return the slide to the laboratory for examination.
