Useful to aid in the diagnosis of Von Willebrand Disease and investigation of prolonged clotting times.

Coagulometric (Turbidimetric)

Required: Platelet-poor plasma (sodium citrate)

Collection Container/tube: Light blue-top (3.2% sodium citrate) tube

Submission Container/Tube: Plastic vial

Specimen Volume: 1.0 mL (minimum volume 0.5 mL)

Collection Instructions: Spin down, remove plasma and spin plasma again. Forward promptly.

Additional Information: Double-centrifuged specimen is critical for accurate results as platelet contamination may cause spurious results.

Ambient: 4 hours

Frozen (Preferred): -20°C for 15 days
