Specimen Requirements
Required: Platelet-poor plasma (sodium citrate)
Collection Container/tube: Light blue-top (3.2% sodium citrate) tube
Submission Container/Tube: Plastic vial
Specimen Volume: 1.0 mL (minimum volume 0.5 mL)
Collection Instructions: Spin down, remove plasma and spin plasma again within one hour from the time of specimen collection. Hemolyzed samples with be rejected. Forward promptly.
Additional Information: Double-centrifuged specimen is critical for accurate results as platelet contamination may cause spurious results.
