Used to monitor to monitor serum tobramycin levels during treatment and to avoid toxicity

Preferred: Plasma (heparinized)

Container/tube: Lt Green/Mint top (lithium heparin) tube

Acceptable: Serum

Container: Plain, red-top or gold, serum gel tube

Specimen Volume: 1.0 mL (minimum volume 0.1 mL)

Collection Instructions: Specimen should be drawn 30 minutes before next dose. Forward promptly.

Refrigerated: 7 days

Frozen: -20C for 1 month
