Specimen Requirements
1. Submit 5 mL to 10 mL (minimum volume: 1 mL) of blood in blood culture bottles.
2. Label bottles with patient’s name (first and last), date and time of collection, and type of specimen.
3. Maintain sterility and forward promptly at ambient temperature only.
