Specimen Requirements
RCH:
Preferred: Plasma (heparinized)
Container/Tube: Lt Green/Mint-top (lithium heparin) tube
Specimen Volume: 1.0 mL (minimum volume: 0.55 mL)
Collection Instructions: Collection tube should be completely filled and immediately placed on ice. Avoid hemolysis. Separate from cells as soon as possible. Forward promptly.
Non-RCH sites:
Container/Tube: Purple Top - EDTA
Collection Instructions: Collect on ice. Centrifuge cold, if possible. Seperate EDTA into aliquot tube with tight lid. Courier refrigerated to SPH or STH ASAP. DO NOT FREEZE.
