Intended Use
Used to aid in the diagnosis of hepatitis B. The detection of HBsAg in human serum or plasma indicates an infection with the Hepatitis B virus (HBV). In acute hepatitis B infection the first immunological marker to appear is HBsAg which may be present some days or weeks before clinical symptoms begin to appear. HBsAg is found in patients with both acute and chronic hepatitis B infections.

Acceptable: Plamsma (heparinized)
Container/Tube: Lt Green/Mint top (lithium heparin) tube
Specimen Volume: 1.0 mL (minimum volume 0.3 mL)
Forward promptly.
Specimen Stability
Ambient: 3 days
Refrigerated: 7 days
Frozen (-20ºC): Aliquots are stable for up to 7 freeze/thaw cycles
