Intended Use

The chloride test system is intended for the quantitative measurement of the level of chloride in plasma, serum, urine (RCH/SPH ONLY), and body fluids (RCH ONLY). Chloride measurements are used in the diagnosis and treatment of electrolyte and metabolic disorders such as cysticfibrosis and diabetic acidosis.

Specimen Requirements

Preferred: Plasma (heparinized)

Container/tube: Lt Green/Mint top (lithium heparin) tube

Acceptable: Serum

Container: Plain, red-top or gold, serum gel tube

Specimen Volume:   1.0 mL (minimum volume 0.1 mL)

Collection Instructions: Forward promptly.
