Intended Use

The cholesterol test system is intended for the quantitative determination of cholesterol concentrations in human serum, body fluid (RCH ONLY) or plasma.

Specimen Requirements

Preferred: Plasma (heparinized)

Container/tube: Lt Green/Mint top (lithium heparin) tube; Centrifuge within 30 minutes of collection.

 

Acceptable: Serum

Container: Plain, red-top or gold, serum gel tube; Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Centrifuge within 30 minutes of collection.

 

Specimen Volume:   1.0 mL (minimum volume 0.1 mL)

Specimen Stability

Refrigerated: 7 days

Frozen: ≤-20°C 3 months
