Intended Use
Bone marrow is often cultured for the diagnosis of infectious granulomatous disease such as brucellosis, histoplasmosis and tuberculosis and in patients with osteomyelitis, subacute bacterial endocarditis (SBE), or fever of unknown origin (FUO). The pathologist collects the specimen during the routine bone marrow aspiration.
