Intended Use
This test is performed to determine a patient's Rh factor, which indicates the presence or absence of the Rh antigen on the surface of their red blood cells.

Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: Whole blood (EDTA)
Preferred Container/Tube: Pink-top (EDTA) tube(s)
Acceptable Container/Tube: Purple-top (EDTA) tube(s)
Specimen Volume: 5 mL (minimum volume: 1 mL) of EDTA whole blood in original
Collection Instructions: Forward promptly. Specimen cannot be frozen.
Note: Specimen must be hand-labeled from patient’s wristband to include patient’s name, date and time of draw, and phlebotomist’s initials. If this is not present on sample, specimen will be rejected.
