Useful for detecting drug use involving stimulants, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opioids, and tetrahydrocannabinol.

This test is not intended for use in employment-related testing.

Intended Use

HPLC-MS/MS is a means of analyzing, confirming, and quantifying drugs, both prescribed and illicit, present in urine.

Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type:  Urine

Specimen Volume:  30mL

Container Type:  60mL with temperature strip

 

Collection Instructions: 

  • Collect 30 mL of urine in a preservative-free specimen cup with a temperature strip
  • Record temperature within 5 minutes of collection on specimen cup, not the lid
  • Specimens without temperatue may only have testing performed if approved by provider. Ensure this has been written on the specimen cup.
  • Refrigerate appropriately labeled specimen until it can be delivered to the lab
  • This testing is not available as a STAT procedure
  • If patient is unable to void >30 mL or unable to record temperature, please include note from the ordering provider stating specimen is okay to run.
