Important Note

Intended Use:  The Access SARS-CoV-2 IgG assay is intended for use as an aid in identifying indiviuals with an adaptive immmune response to SARS-CoV-2, indicating recent or prior infection.  At this time, it is unknown for how long antibodies persist following infection and if the presence of antibodies confers protective immunity.

Methodology

The Access SARS-CoV-2 IgG assay is a paramagnetic particle, chemiluminescent immunoassay intended for the equalitative detection of IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2.

Specimen Requirements

Preferred: Serum

Container/Tube:   Plain red-top or gold serum gel

Acceptable: Plasma (lithium heparin)

Container/Tube: Lt Green/Mint top (lithium heparin) tube

Specimen:  0.5 mL (minimum volume 0.25)

Collection Instructions:  Forward promptly.

Specimen Stability

Physically separate serum or plasma from contact with cells as soon as possible.  Tightly stopper the tube immediately and store as directed below.

Ambient:  (15-30°C)  up to 8 hours

Refrigerated: (2-8°C)  up to 48 hours

Frozen: (-20 to -15°C)  up to 30 days   *thaw only once
