Specimen Requirements

40 mL from a random urine collection in a screw-capped, sterile container. (Specimen grossly contaminated with blood is not acceptable.) No preservative. Early-morning, clean-catch random urine collection is recommended. Send specimen refrigerated. Maintain sterility and forward promptly.
