Preferred: Plasma (heparinized)
Container/Tube: Lt Green/Mint top (lithium heparin) tube
Acceptable: Serum
Container: Plain, red-top or or gold, serum gel tube
Specimen Volume: 1 mL (minimum volume 0.8 mL)
Collection Instructions: Forward promptly.
Required: EDTA whole blood
Container/Tube: Lavender-top (EDTA) tube
Specimen Volume: 3 mL (minimum volume 0.5 mL) of EDTA whole Blood
Collection Instructions: Invert several times to mix blood. Forward promptly
